Golden Berries
Did you Know?
Fresh berries are bright yellow and very sweet when ripe and so beautiful in their lantern-like papery husks, that they're used in decorative gourmet dessert garnishes.
The health enhancing benefits have been recognized through the ages -- global explorers carried Goldenberry seeds on their travels to ensure a rapid growing, nutrient rich fresh fruit source upon finding land (eg. ‘poha' in Hawaiian).
In fact, ‘gooseberrys' were one of the few non-native fruits available to early Australian settlers.
FAQ's
1. What do Goldenberrys taste like? The sweetness and texture of a raisin crossed with the zing of citrus zest.2. Are they ‘raw'? Technically no, as they are air-dried at approx. 60°C to comply with Australian Quarantine's very complicated regulations. The alternative is nuclear sterilization – and WE KNOW YOU DON'T WANT THAT!!
3. Are they certified organic? Not yet, but laboratory tests prove ours are pesticide - free, and we're working closely with our supplier towards an organic crop in 2012.
